2nd Annual Lexington Craft Beer Week Kicks off May 10th
Events Celebrating Lexington’s Beer Scene Runs May 10-18
On the heels of a week a year ago that saw record crowds at a number of breweries and craft beer bars, the 2nd annual Lexington Craft Beer Week will run May 10-18. The week, which features special events, tappings and tastings at bars and breweries across the city is organized by LexBeerScene.com, a web site focusing on Lexington’s craft beer brewers and bars as well as the local food truck scene.
“After the success of last year’s events, it was hard to figure out how to keep our momentum going into year two, but I think people will be very happy with what we have in store,” said LexBeerScene.com head Chris Vandergrift. “Whether you’re a casual beer drinker interested in trying something new or a devoted craft beer fanatic, I’m positive there will be an event for everyone during the week.”
Kicking off with a Breakfast and Coffee beer event at Country Boy Brewing and a Brew-Off at KY Ale on Saturday, May 10th and ending with Blue Stallion Brewing’s Blue Core Charity Corn Hole Tournament on Sunday May 18th, there will be special events at bars and restaurants throughout the city including cooking classes, brunches, tap takeovers, and plenty more. As an added bonus, West Sixth Brewing and Country Boy Brewing will use the occasion to release their second ever collaboration, County Western, Volume 2. The beer, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Brown Ale, will be available in the tap rooms at West Sixth Brewing and Country Boy Brewing as well as in select bars throughout the city, including serving as the featured beer for Pazzo’s Pint Night on Wednesday, May 14th. A canned version of the beer will also be released during the week.
