Women’s Beer T-shirts – A Rant (My First World Problems are Tough)

imagesAs a beer nerd, I own a few brewery T-shirts, don’t we all? As a woman I prefer women’s cut T-shirts, they just fit better. They are more flattering to the gifts that puberty provides.

Men’s shirts are way too boxy and long. If I find a men’s T-shirt that fits my chest -it will be huge in the waist and too long. The short sleeves will just about reach my elbows and I will look like I am wearing my pajamas. Not really a “the look” I seek.

So, when I find a brewery that has a few women’s cut T-shirts – I get excited. Unfortunately, all too often they are ridiculously small! OK, I am taller than average and have bigger ta-tas than average, but my BMI is within the recommended range! Why is it next to impossible to find T-shirts that fit?

I was recently at Oskar Blues in Brevard, NC perusing the gift shop and enjoying a fresh beverage. I found several women’s T-shirts I would have purchased, but after trying them on, or should I say “trying” to try them on – I could not find one that fit. The extra large women’s cut shirt was tiny. “Extra Large”, really? I could not even put it on! My friend of average build, 5’5” was busting out of it. C’mon!

I’m not picking on Oskar Blues-at least they are trying. Many breweries don’t even offer a women’s T-shirt.

Hey breweries! I will pay to be a walking billboard for your product! Maybe you could help me out by providing a realistic product. I can’t be the only one searching.
