The LouisvilleBeer.com News Desk got a call last night from our pal Vince over at Great Flood Brewing. He gave us some info on events and things going on at Louisville’s newest craft brewery. Strap in, here we go:
The biggest news was that starting a week from today (August 20th if you don’t have a calendar handy), Great Flood will be open on Wednesdays! They’re not entirely sure of the exact hours, but I imagine when you show up after your 9:00-5:00, you can stop in and enjoy some delicious beer(s).
Speaking of Wednesdays, Brigid Kaelin and Steve Cooley will be playing live music on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. If you don’t like good music, just show up on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays and try to listen to something other than dubstep…jeez, that’s so 2012.
Speaking of bands, Great Flood is also planning to have bands every Saturday through Louisville Craft Beer Week.
Starting this week, Great Flood will carry some cans in their arsenal, things like West Sixth IPA, West Sixth Amber, Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues, Bell’s, Evil Twin, etc. Even though Scott made fun of me on the podcast about ordering a guest beer at a brewery, it’s a nice option. HINT: Please try their beers first, but it’s okay to order off the guest beer list – that’s why they have ’em.
Lexington’s Country Boy Brewing are also hosting a Tap Takeover at Great Flood next Saturday. Go check that for sure. Great bunch of dudes making some great beer! Think they’ll bring any cans of Cougar Bait? One can only hope. You know they’re canning now, right? Follow us on The Facebook, fool!
Did we forget to mention they’re filling growlers all the time now? Yup, even guest taps!
I think that about covers it. Keep your eyes glued on the Beer Calendar for more info.
Pssssst…other breweries in Kentucky: Send us this kind of info whenever you’d like, we’d love to publish it!
