Against the Grain – Bloody Show – Review

This is a Mikkeller/Against the Grain collaboration, brewed especially for Valentine’s Day. The appearance is clear and rich with a deep golden-orange honey colored body and a frothy white head that left sheets of lacing.

The smell was citrus and gentle graininess. Blood oranges. Clean.

The taste was spicy hops – Saaz perhaps? Very light sweet oranges. Hints of coffee and maybe even walnuts? The blood oranges are more noticeable in the aroma than in the flavor which leaves a nice clean, crisp lager taste.

With only 17.3 IBUs it is very drinkable but very flavorful too. I’m glad to find this is a very solid pilsner right here in Louisville.
