10th Annual Blessing of the Beer and Tapping of the Keg

IMG_3147If you have never attended the Blessing of the Beer ceremony at the BBC Production Brewery, you’ve got to go this year. It is a very cool celebration and is unlike any beer event you’ve ever been to. This is taking place Thursday March 12 at 5pm at the BBC Taproom at Main and Clay. Go drink some holy Bourbon Barrel Stout. I swear, it tastes better blessed (if you can believe that). Here’s the Facebook Event.

Here’s what Phil Dearner sent me on the topic:

The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and BBC Taproom and Production Facility invite you to join us on this very special day.  This a celebration of the start of St. Patrick’s Day festivities and also celebrates the birthday of Bourbon Barrel Stout.  The AOH and BBC Brew Crew will meet at the BBC Taproom, 636 East Main Street, on Thursday March 12 5:00ish (Irish have their own way of telling time) where Father Fowler will be led by the AOH and a Bagpiper throughout the brewery where Father Fowler will bless all the Bourbon Barrel Stout that will be served all over the city for St. Patrick’s Day Parade festivities.

After the ceremony at BBC, we will all meet at O’Shea’s, located at 956 Baxter Ave around 6:30ish.  Once we all get to O’Shea’s Father Fowler will lead us in prayer, there will be a few Irish blessings and the Knighting of me, Phillip Dearner AKA Beerpimp, into the Knights of St. Patrick.  This is a huge honor for me and hope that you can come celebrate with the AOH, BBC Brew Crew, cheers to our beloved Bourbon Barrel Stout’s birthday, and help me say thanks to our friends of the AOH for all they do in our community.
