BBC Owner and Derby City Brewfest Founder Pat Hagan says, “not only is Brewfest a great way for people to sample some of the region’s finest craft beers, it’s an Oaks Night “party for the people,” where they can relax after a long day of racing, drink some really good beer, listen to great music, and enjoy a laid-back, casual evening.”
New this year is the Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Beer Competition, in which 20 brewers will have brewed their own exclusive version of a beer and aged it in Four Roses Bourbon barrels. There will be an official judging by a panel of BJCP experts prior to the event. During BrewFest, attendees will have the opportunity to sample the beers, enter a raffle for great prizes and vote in the People’s Choice category.
“We are honored to play a role in BrewFest again this year, and we’re really excited to taste the Four Roses Bourbon-inspired beers that the brewers create,” said Brent Elliott, Four Roses Master Distiller. “People attending will also have a chance to taste Four Roses Bourbon, making this event a great way for beer and Bourbon fans alike to further enjoy the most exciting weekend of the year in Louisville.”
