Great Flood Brewing Company, located in the Upper Highlands, announced today (on their 2-Year Anniversary) that they are finalizing plans to open a new 13,000 square foot production brewery in Shelby Park/Germantown by the end of 2016. The new facility will increase their brewing capacity 10-fold and will allow for local distribution of their beers on draft and in cans. The new facility will also eventually feature a tasting room and event space. Their brewery and taproom in the Highlands will remain open and will continue to produce small batches.
Their new brewing System is a 15 BBL (465 gallon) brew house with 30 BBL fermenters. They will produce an estimated 4,000 BBLs annually (compared to 300 annually at their current Highlands lcoation). While the Highlands brewery focuses on experimentation, the Shelby Park/Germantown brewery will facilitate large-scale production and distribution of proven Great Flood brands.
Great Flood will be primarily focused on distribution in the Greater Louisville area. Expect to see their beer on draft at your favorite local bars and in 12oz cans at off-premise retailers. Arrangements are in place for statewide and regional distribution when capacity allows.
The new facility will feature an event space, a small tasting room and will eventually offer brewery tours.
Great Flood Brewing says they will remain 100% brewer-owned.
