Another week and two more breweries are entering the rapidly growing KY market. Shmaltz Brewing Company of Clifton Park, NY and Cisco Brewers of Nantucket, MA will be popping up on shelves as well as on draft in the area.
Shmaltz Brewing Company will be officially kicking off their entry into the Commonwealth with an event at the Beer Trappe in Lexington this afternoon. Five of their beers will be available at the tasting, though the launch line-up may not be limited to these five. Here’s what will be available:
- Genesis Dry Hopped Session Ale
- Messiah Nut Brown Ale
- Hop Manna IPA
- Death of a Contract Brewer Black IPA
- Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A.
Bittersweet Lenny’s is the first rye IPA I ever tried and it remains a personal favorite to this day. I was also lucky enough to try Hop Manna this weekend and was very impressed with it as well, so be sure to give Shmaltz a try if you see them out.
Cisco Brewers will also be showing up on the shelves and on draft with their entire core line-up starting off and some of their Island Reserves and the Woods showing up on occasion. here’s the list of their core/seasonal beers that I assume will be seen (no confirmation on the seasonals but i’d expect to see them as well).
- Indie Pale Ale
- Whale’s Tail Pale Ale
- Grey Lady Ale
- Extra Stout
- Sankaty Light Lager
- Pumple Drumkin
- Winter Shredder
I haven’t had any of the offerings from Cisco, but I have heard good things, especially about the Woods series, comprised of several barrel-aged sours. Keep an eye out and show them a little love. Both Cisco and Shmaltz are part of the Beer House Distributors portfolio.
Cheers!
