Sheltowee Hop-A-Lot IPA – Review

Sheltowee Hop-A-Lot IPA is brewed by BBC for the Liquor Barn chain and is available in six packs or singles. The body was clear of sediment and dark honey colored. A cream colored foamy head left a sticky lace netting.

The smell was fruity and citrus hops. A bit floral.

The taste was of hops oils, lovely grapefruit pith bitterness, and caramel sweetness. There was a smooth bitterness, not harsh. Nice long finish. This one also hides the 8% ABV well. I actually think this is a better tasting beer than BBC’s flagship APA.

The mouthfeel was medium to full with moderate carbonation. Not much alcohol sizzle in the mouth. This is a very drinkable IPA.

I wish the BBC would adopt this as a regular offering, especially since they do not offer an regular IPA in their line-up!
