Bluegrass Brewing Company Producing Retail Food Products

BBCIn keeping with their “Beer is Food”™ slogan, the Bluegrass Brewing Company (locally known as BBC) is pleased to announce a new line of Kentucky Proud retail food products.

Pat Hagan, the owner of BBC, and Catering Chef Sean Haggerty have developed four products that are ready for retail stores. As you might expect, Louisville’s original microbrewery has incorporated their award winning craft beers with locally sourced ingredients to create these sauces and mixes:
BBC Premium Porter Mary Bloody Mary Mix

A blend of vegetable juices, spices, and our BBC Dark Star Porter gives a definite smoky note to the pallet. This has been a signature cocktail in the BBC microbreweries for years, and is now in a bottle ready to go- just add vodka.

BBC Beer Cheese

We added our BBC German style Alt Beer with local spices to cheese and packaged into an 8oz container, a larger version of the staple BBC Beer Cheese that is served in our microbreweries.

BBC Cajun Relish

This tomato based sauce has local habaneros, bell peppers, garlic and herbs blended to give a bold taste with yet a mild heat. Great on burgers, omelets, in chili, and especially with shrimp.

BBC Spicy Remoulade

This Cajun style aioli has roasted red bell pepper and garlic purée, basil, and spices to make the perfect spread. Great on a fish sandwich, crab cake, or a delicious substitute for mayonnaise.

These products are currently available at both brewpubs, online at bbcbrew.com and will be on retail shelves shortly. Watch for tasting demos in your area.

With many Medals and Awards from the Great American Beer Festival as well as other local and nationwide contests, BBC has established itself as the father of the Louisville Craft Beer scene. They are also a member of Louisville Originals, Kentucky Proud, and Keep, Louisville Weird, so it comes as no surprise that BBC strives to use local products and businesses. Pop’s Pepper Patch, a Louisville manufacturer, is producing these products and Fish Market Inc., is the distributor.

Some of these products are already in local retail and restaurants:
